Obituary of Mary Jean Haley
Mary Jean Haley, age 88, a long -time resident and community leader in San Augustine, passed from this life on Friday, October 4, 2019, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born to the late Bradford Lee Gann and Lillie Elizabeth (O'Banion) Gann, on February 20, 1931, in Shelby County, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, October 6, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in San Augustine, with Rev. Martin Doran officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 6, 2019, from the hours of 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm also at the First United Methodist Church of San Augustine.
Mrs. Haley was a much loved community leader in San Augustine and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had a beautiful voice and was very active in the church music. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughters Colleen Pickard and husband Tommy, Celia Marshburn and husband Mike, Cherylea Hayes and husband Randy, Mollie Ethington and husband Monte; sons Richard Haley and wife Kathie, Victor Haley and wife Caroline, Brad Haley, Clayton Haley and wife Connie; grandchildren Caleb Pickard, Casey Pickard, Collette Hanzel, Calan Pickard, Cole Marshburn, Mila Evans, Mikhail Hayes, Conner Hayes, Cameron Hayes, Micah Ethington, Madeline Ethington, McKenna Ethington, Maggie Ethington, Trey Haley, Hunter Haley, CiCi Guarniere, Sam Haley, Catherine Haley, Charles Haley, Will Haley, Grace Haley, Hollin Haley, Mitch Haley; 14 Great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.
She was preceded in death by parents Bradford and Lillie Gann; husband Dr. Curtis R. Haley; brothers Mac Gann, Douglass Gann.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
