Obituary of Kenneth Earl Carrell

Mr. Kenneth Earl Carrell, a loving husband, father, brother and friend, passed away at the age of 67 on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at home surrounded by family.

Kenneth was a resident of Broaddus, Texas, for over 40 years. He was a faithful member of Harvey Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he served in the roles of deacon, song leader, and Sunday school teacher.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 49 years Deborah Oliver Carrell. Kenneth and Deborah married young in San Augustine and have three children: daughters Kendra and husband Joel Grizzle of Lyons, KS, Karen and husband Scott Stentz of Athens, TX, and son Troy and Sarah Carrell of Woodville, TX. One of Kenneth’s greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren: Emalee, Megan, Kennedy, Jace, Emory, Gage, Liam, Reese and Grayson.

Kenneth was born in San Augustine, TX, on April 14, 1952, to Troy and Frances Carrell. He was blessed to have a tight-knit family. His siblings: brothers Mike and wife Donna, Robert and wife Rita, Larry and wife Sonja and Charles along with sisters: Pam and Gary Bolt and Paula and Davey McLeod loved spending time together laughing, eating pinto beans and cornbread and pie.

Kenneth worked as a logger, millwright and painter. He loved to hunt and fish and killed his prized buck this past year. He loved sitting on his back porch watching his cats, tinkering in his shop and could fix almost anything. He was known to be a rebel at times, but always settled down when Deborah gave him the look. Kenneth celebrates his forever homecoming in heaven with his father and mother.
