Obituary of Joshua Stephen Chance

Joshua Stephen "Josh" Chance, age 29, of San Augustine County, Texas, passed from this life on Monday, July 1, 2019, in San Augustine County, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, 316 West Columbia Street, San Augustine, Texas.  Officiating will be Reagan McClenney, Milton Beard Jr., and Mike Beard.  Interment will follow at Harvey Cemetery in Broaddus.  

Visitation will be held Sunday evening, July 7, 2019, from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.

Josh was born to Michelle (Beard) Chance and Stephen Cecil Chance on October 4, 1989, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  He was self-employed with owning his own business.  He was a member of Ora Volunteer Fire Department and the Church of Christ.

Those who are left to cherish his memory include, his beloved parents, Michelle and Stephen Chance of Lufkin; brother, Jordan Taylor Chance of Lufkin; maternal grandmothers, Juanice H. Beard of Broaddus and Lois Wicker of Vicksburg, Mississipi; maternal grandfather, Lee Manuel and his wife, Deborah of Winona, Mississippi; paternal grandmother, Ora Lee Chance of San Augustine; uncles, Milton Beard Jr. and his wife Pam of Lacombe, Louisiana; Michael Beard and his wife Patricia of The Woodlands; Melissa Denman and her husband, Dan of The Colony, in Dallas, uncle, Jeremy Chance of Lufkin; uncle, Mike Wicker and his wife Amy of Vicksburg, Mississippi; aunts, Jennifer Wilkins and Toby of Tallulah, Louisiana, Ginger Mathews of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Pamela Hilliard and her husband David of Homer, Louisiana, Stacie Crozier and her husband Carl of Dothan, Alabama; uncle, Jesse Manuel of Winona, Mississippi; and numerous cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Milton A..Beard Sr; paternal grandfather, Houston Cecil Chance; uncle, Scott H. Beard; and aunt, Doris Sowell. 

Pallbearers will include Cade Beard, Alex Denman, Austin Denman, Marcus Morgan, Thomas Roberts, and James Hope; Honorary pallbearers will include Darrell Robertson, Kevin Holden, James Earl Moore, Robert Miller, Kelley Chance, and William Chance.
