Obituary of H. J. Medley

Funeral Service for H. J. Medley, age 84, of San Augustine,  was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with Austin Wiggins officiating. Burial was at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden, San Augustine County, Texas.  Visitation was held Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.

H. J. was born April 17, 1935, to the late Horace and Lorene (Akridge) Medley, in Newton County, Texas. He was raised by John and Mandy Medley. He passed from this life on Saturday, June 15, 2019, in San Augustine, Texas.  He had worked in the timber industry and was a logger by trade for many years.  He married the love of his life Doris (Wilkerson) Medley on June 25, 1955, and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish his memory include wife of 64 years,  Doris (Wilkerson) Medley, son Glenn Medley and wife Loretta, daughter Debra Bryan and husband Lynn, grandchildren Brandon Medley and wife Jayme, Joni Roberson and husband Joe, Eddie Bryan, Timothy Bryan and wife Alicia, great-grandchildren Jaxson Medley, Macie Medley, Tate Roberson, Taylie Roberson, Carter Bryan, Gabe Bryan.

Preceded in death by parents Horace and Lorene Medley; Uncle and Aunt John and Mandy Medley; granddaughters Cynthia Marie Bryan, Stacey Nicole Bryan; great-granddaughter, Annabelle Christine Medley  brother Hollis Medley; sister,  Edith Armstrong

Serving as pallbearers included, Brandon Medley, Paul Medley, Larry Jackson, Dan Fussell, Brad Mathews, and Greg Wood.  Honorary pallbearers included Jaxson Medley and Tate Roberson.
