Obituary of Wayne Newton

Funeral Services for Wayne Newton, age 77, of San Augustine, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Gordon Simmons officiating with interment in the Liberty Hill Memorial Gardens in San Augustine.  Visitation will be held Friday evening, April 19, 2019, between the hours of 6 p.m to 8 p.m. at Wyman Roberts. 

Wayne was born to the late Sarah Ann (Horn) Newton and John Robert Newton on February 14, 1942, in San Augustine County, Texas, and passed from this life on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, in Lufkin, Texas.  He served in the United States Army and was a professional carpenter by trade making beautiful custom cabinets. 

Those who will cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Katy Newton of San Augustine; Brothers, John Newton, Alvin Newton, Jimmy Newton and wife, Martha all of San Augustine, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, John, and Sarah Newton; brothers, Edward Newton, Carl Newton, Jessie Newton, Glen Newton, and Leonard Newton.
