Obituary of Charlene Jones Smith

Funeral Services for Charlene (Jones) Smith, age 79, of Hemphill, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Doyle Jones officiating.  Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine County.   Visitation will be Saturday evening from the hours of 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Wyman Roberts.

She was born to the late Edie Mae (Thomas) Jones and William Jessie Jones on September 1, 1939, in Shelby County, Texas, and she passed from this life in the early morning hours of Thursday morning, February 7, 2019, in Lufkin, Texas.  She was a homemaker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, along with being a wonderful sister, she dearly loved her family. She was of the Assembly of God faith attending the Faith Alive Church in San Augustine.

Those who are left to cherish her memory include, her beloved daughters, Sharon King of San Augustine,Kristi Collins and her husband, Billy of Hemphill; Tyna Craig and husband Ray of Pineland; sister Betty Daniel and her husband, Lawson of Houston; brothers Doyle Jones and his wife, Cherie of Waxahachie and J.W. Jones; her beloved grandchildren, Brent Bennefield of San Augustine; Justin Collins of Hemphill; Clyde Collins of Hemphill; Lance Collins of Hemphill; Colby Craig of Pineland; Amber Napier of San Augustine; Ashley Napier of San Augustine; Stormie Craig of Pineland and Paisley Craig of Pineland; beloved great-grandchildren,  Cody Bennefield and Kristen Bennefield.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Edie Jones; beloved husband Charles. H. Smith; son, Charles Larry Smith, along with brothers Harold Jones and  Verdell Jones.

Serving as pallbearers will include, Ronald Smith, Herbert Smith, David Smith, Larry Smith, Eugene Smith  and Charles Smith.
