Obituary of Derl D. Anderson

Funeral Services for Derl D. Anderson, age 87, of San Augustine, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Rev. Martin Doran officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2019, from the hours of 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. just prior to funeral service.

Derl was born to Ethel V. Anderson and Thomas Preston Anderson on September 16, 1931, in Conroe, Texas.  He served in the Korean conflict while in the United States Air Force and he was married to the love of his life Celia for 62 years, and she predeceased him in 2014.  He was retired as a executive for the Armco Steel Company.  He was of the Methodist faith.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his beloved sons, Michael Anderson, and his wife, Debbie of Brookeland; Randall Anderson and his wife, Jeannie of Lake Jackson; beloved daughter, Brenda Johnson and her husband, Roger of San Augustine; his beloved grandchildren, Ryan Anderson and his wife, Nicole; Cody Anderson; Katie Luna her husband David, and Kelly Jo Parker; David; great-grandchildren, Braedon Jones, Davy Luna, and Emily Luna.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife,  Celia in 2014; his beloved daughter, Heather Anderson; Brothers, Camp Anderson; Preston Anderson, Jr.; Jack Anderson,  and Johnson Anderson, and sisters, Ilene Martin and Elaine Anderson.

Serving as pallbearers will includce, Ryan Anderson, Cody Anderson, Camp Anderson, Robert Anderson, John Short and Ronald Cauthen.  Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Alan Anderson.
